On the 6th of March a starting shot will sound on the Dam square in Amsterdam, as a start for a hitchhike-event called Can I get a right?. Students are going to hitchhike to the border of Europe to express their concerns publicly about the human rights situation in Belarus. The 10-day hitchhike campaign will be held on the road and during several stops, in the capitals Amsterdam, Bonn, Berlin and Warsaw, and will end, 3 days before the elections in Belarus, on the 16th of March.

In the run of the elections, between March 6th and 16th, the hitchhiking students will spread alternative ballots – asking people to cast their votes for the improvement of several human rights issues pressing Belarus society.




The hitchhiking event Can I Get A Right? is an initiative of the Amnesty International Student Groups from Amsterdam. With this event the students want to show their solidarity, above all, with the youth in Belarus. That’s why Dutch, German, Polish and other Amnesty International student groups will gather in a manifestation at the border with Poland and Belarus (in Bialystok, Poland).
