March 2007: Sustainable
It is SUSTAINABLE something which is maintained into perpetuity. It means preserving our civilization and the things we hold dear in perpetuity while enhancing our quality of life.
The climate change has become during the last decades a global problem. Because global problems need global answers, partnerships between the nations and at all levels are required to tackle this issue.

Sustainable development is defined as “Humanity has the ability to make development sustainable to ensure that it meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs” (Kates, Parris&Leiserowitz, 2005).
Some policies are bad, some are ill thought out and some are just plain unsustainable….
Once there was a little girl who grew up in a small town, somewhere near an ethnic melting pot and she thought the world revolved around her mother and everybody was her friend. But most of all she thought nothing about this would ever change.
Multinationals that commercialize GM hybrids pretend that they are promoting scientific progress, hence, on the same topic, environmental organizations predict bio-disasters. Authorities, however, stay skeptical as GMOs’ effects on human health are still a mystery of science.
